Did You Know....? - Completely Batty
Bats have an echo-location system to help pin-point their prey or any obstacles in their path. When in flight at night, they make rapid squeaks, most of which are too high-pitched for humans to hear. Their ultra sensitive ears allow them to hear the squeak's echo. Although they fly out of caves in vast numbers, they respond only to their own individual echo-signals and not to those of another bat.
