The driver of a rush-hour InterCity train from Bristol to Swansea in 1997 managed to get hopelessley lost. He took the wrong route east of Neath and ended up taking the passengers on a unscheduled tour of the Welsh valleys. Half an hour later, he realised his error and pulled into a siding where the guard informed the passengers that they were lost. An hour later, a new driver arrived to take the train back on the right line to Swansea
