Life Imitates TV

For years Chuck Norris was forced to repeat the phrase “I’m not a Texas Ranger, but I play one on TV.” That will change tomorrow when Texas Gov. Rick Perry hands Norris and his brother Aaron a commemorative certificate designating them honorary Texas Rangers.

Norris and his brother, Aaron, were the executive producers of [Walker, Texas Ranger], which was filmed in Texas and used real Texas Rangers in an advisory role, Department of Public Safety Tela Mange said.
The Texas Public Safey Commission, which oversees DPS, voted in October to bestow the designation upon the Norris brothers, “to say thank you for bringing honor to the department,” Mange said.

With all due respect, Chuck Norris bestows himself upon designations.
