Come At Me Bro
iPhone and PS3 unlocker/rapper Geohot, A.K.A. George Hotz is currently battling Sony for all our rights to party with their technology. While their gadgets are no match for Hotz, Sony sure can out-lawyer him. So, although Geohotz is fully on board to fight the good fight, the 21-year-old was already $10K in debt for lawyers fees, and the court battle has just begun. He’s started a legal defense fund and is blogging the whole experience here to send Sony the message that they don’t own the exclusive rights to progress.
Here’s part of Geohot’s rally cry:
“My PS3 goal has been to provide users a legitimate path to homebrew, which by the standards of all previous cases (or, in reverse), is 100% legal. Sony does not even try to allege piracy or copyright infringement in this case, they allege I did things like play “super mario world, an unauthorized game” on MY PS3. And access MY PS3 in an unauthorized way. Who are they to authorize what I do with my taxed and paid for property?”
Damn straight! Viva Geohot!
