'Supernatural' Season Finale Preview: The Last Chance and Battle for Heaven
Supernatural will be airing its final two season 6 episodes, "Let It Bleed," and "The Man Who Knew Too Much," back-to-back on May 20. (The show has been renewed for a seventh season) However, they are two stand-alone episodes, and each is centered on a different brother.
"Let It Bleed"
"A demon kidnaps Ben and Lisa to get to Dean. Sam and Dean are forced to join with an unlikely ally to free them."
The first episode up is season 6, episode 21, and it's the Dean-half of the two-hour event. What the press release doesn't say is that it looks like Lisa is possessed by a demon, according to the promotional photos. She's facing off against Dean and Ben and is shown holding a bloody knife. It also looks like she gets stabbed with that knife (perhaps by Ben). Will Lisa survive the possession?
"The Man Who Knew Too Much"
"The wall comes down in Sam's head and all hell breaks loose. Dean and Bobby are, for once, at a total loss on how to help him and are forced to stand by and do nothing while Sam breaks. The battle for heaven comes to a head."
The second hour is the season finale, and it focuses on Sam and that wall that has been crumbling. The war in heaven, about which viewers learned more in "The Man Who Would Be King", is also a focal point, but the photos do suggest that it's unclear whose side Crowley is on - Castiel or Raphael's - as the King of Hell is shown standing next to the latter.
The promo
The promo (below) shows scenes from both episodes, and it's hard not to be worried after watching it. This is Supernatural, so of course things are getting dark, and it's no surprise that there will be at least one death before it's all over.
It begins with Sam facing himself - at least, a version of himself that could be what lies behind that wall in his head - and that version tells him, "This is your last chance," while holding what could be a knife. Castiel asks Balthazar if he's with him, and Dean faces off against Castiel and tells the angel, "We were family once." As Crowley points out, it's hard to figure out just whom you can trust. Lisa holds a knife to Ben's throat. Bobby says, "This comes down to one angel," and blood splatters across a manuscript by H.P. Lovecraft from March 15, 1937 (the day he died). Cas stands behind Balthazar, and he doesn't look happy. Crowley says, "Even I don't break contracts like this!" Could Cas be planning on breaking their arrangement? The promo ends with a series of images, including Ben reading Cthulhu Tales, what appears to be how Lisa and Ben are kidnapped, Lisa smiling and perhaps with blood in her mouth, and Ben firing a shotgun. It ends with an explosion of light from within a house. Could that be an angel dying or an angel's grace? There is supposed to be a transformation of some sort. Could an angel be becoming human?
What do you think of the preview of the final two Supernatural season 6 episodes?
