Pirate City Rollers - The Grudge Match

What?
Pirate City Rollers presents The Grudge Match

When?

 Saturday 18th June

Where?

Auckland City YMCA (Corner of Pitt Street & Grays Avenue)

Who?

Mascara Massacre versus Dead Wreckoning

Why?
In The Art of War, Sun Tzu said, “If you know your enemy and you know yourself, you need not fear the results of a hundred battles.”

Pirate City Rollers’ two oldest teams know each other well; they’ve come head-to-head time and time again since 2007. Crowd favourite Mascara Massacre has come tantalisingly close many times, only to have their efforts snatched in the last seconds by three-time season champions Dead Wreckoning. Now, on June 18 you can see these old foes battle it out in the re-match of the year.

Mascara Massacre has been strengthened and revitalised this year, with a crop of new skaters joining the ranks, next to a number of fighting fit veterans who are ready to prove they can take down the women in black once and for all.

Meanwhile, fear-inducing Dead Wreckoning has held the top-of-the-table position since 2009 and is the current holder of the Black Dahlia Cup, Pirate City Rollers’ coveted home season prize. Dead Wreckoning’s veterans are a mix of powerhouse blockers and agile jammers, but they too have a number of up-and-coming athletes with big skates to fill.

Tickets to the re-match of the year are strictly limited. Pirate City Rollers’ last bout sold out, leaving many punters disappointed. Book now to avoid being left out in the cold!

Tickets available from Under the Radar now, or at Real Groovy from 2 June.

Pirate City Rollers - Season Opener - New Season New Team

Tickets: http://www.undertheradar.co.nz/utr/ticket&pid=102

Pirate City Rollers, New Zealand’s original roller derby league, welcomes a new team that is going to march onto the track and into your hearts. Introducing Alpha Beta Slammers, Auckland’s hottest (and pinkest!) new roller derby team.

To form the team, Pirate City Rollers combined some of its best veteran skaters with up-and-coming fresh meat, and now this strictly-come-marching squad is ready to wow crowds at Auckland’s YMCA on Pitt Street. With a point to prove and a stiff upper lip, these marching babes are looking forward to their first challenge!

This fresh-faced and ready team is set to face crowd favourites Mascara Massacre come Saturday 21 May. The girls in purple and green have been the colourful pack on the track since 2007 - will they seek their revenge by delivering their first crushing defeat of the season?

With skates stomping and colours flying, this new and exciting match up is going to be a sight to behold!

Pirate City Rollers – Roller Derby Bash for Christchurch

Tickets:@ Under the Radar

Pirate City Rollers is back for the 2011 season and is bringing you a cracker of a season opener, all in the name of a good cause.

Every year the Pirates put on The Graduation Bash, a special exhibition bout that shows off the talent of its fiercest new skaters, as well as the hardened prowess of their veterans.

This year, the Pirates have decided to up the ante at the annual curtain raiser by giving proceeds from the bout to the Red Cross Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.

So get in quick and buy your tickets online from Under the Radar – they’re only $12 online and will be $15 at the door… if there are any left!

If you’re in for a lesson from the school of hard blocks, head down to the YMCA Pitt Street on April 16 for fast-paced action, brutal hits and high tension you’ve come to expect from Pirate City Rollers, and do so for a good cause!

Don your best black and red attire to support the occasion and pack a handful of coins to help out our friends in Christchurch.

Bring it on!
