Find Your Twin with Facial Profiler
You ever hear the theory that there are twins of everyone somewhere in the world? If you are a twin already, that idea is quite easy to agree with. But if you are not, you may have issues accepting such a line of thought. Are you curious to find out if this twin theory is true? Facebook has an app that may help find your other you.
Coke Cola Zero has begun conducting a “worldwide social experiment” with the launch of a Facebook application called the Facial Profiler. This new app sets forth to answer the question, “Is it possible someone out there has your face?”
Using the Facial Profiler, you can either upload a picture of yourself from your computer or take a snapshot using your webcam. Then after aligning the picture to an outline and marking your eye placement with the built-in editor, the program goes to work. It compares your image to others submitted in the application’s database and uses similar software used by law-enforcement to quickly come up with a match. Then you have the option to contact your match on Facebook.
In my case, the system only came up with a 53 percent match with the photo I submitted so it was okay, but not impressive. Facial matches should improve, however, as more people submit photos and the image database size increases. Some of the other posted face matches on the Facial Profiler, though, were quite remarkable.
