Friday Man Babe - David Tennant and Matt Smith

In honour of it being Doctor Who day on my illustrious blog, we have 2 Man Babes today - The 10th and 11th Doctors, David Tennant and Matt Smith!!

While attending Paisley Grammar School, he wrote an essay on how his greatest desire was to play Doctor Who on TV.

Chose his acting surname from Neil Tennant, singer with Pet Shop Boys. This came after reading an interview with Tennant in Smash Hits shortly after learning that he would have to change his professional name in order to join the actors' union, Equity, as there was already a registered member with his real name, David McDonald.

Is only the 2nd actor to play The Doctor in the whole run of the show, both old and new, to have been born in Scotland.

Says his favorite Doctor from the original Doctor Who was Peter Davison, who reprised his role as the Fifth Doctor alongside Tennant in the Children In Need special episode, "Time Crash".

Matthew Robert Smith is an English stage and television actor. Smith became an actor after a football-related back injury. His first performance was in Murder in the Cathedral as part of the National Youth Theatre.
He became a professional actor in 2003, notably starring alongside Christian Slater in Fresh Kills and Swimming with Sharks.Smith's first television role came in 2006, as Jim Taylor in the BBC adaptations of Phillip Pullman's The Ruby in the Smoke and The Shadow in the North . His first major role in television came in 2007, as Danny in the BBC series Party Animals, and his first West End theatre role came in the same year in Swimming with Sharks, followed a year later by a critically acclaimed performance as Henry in That Face.
In late 2008, Smith was cast to play the eleventh incarnation of the Doctor in the British television series Doctor Who, beginning with the show's fifth series in 2010.
